Teaching a Service Dog Not to Pull on the Leash

Hi everyone!

I’ve been working on a video for you and I hope you enjoy it. I think that one of the first things any dog should learn is how to walk nicely on leash, so I’ve posted a video on the first step of teaching that.

It basically teaches your dog to recognize collar pressure and how to relieve it. You’ll learn how to do this with non-aversive methods (which means that you won’t be causing discomfort or pain to your dog). It’s simple and easy and will get you well on your way to teaching your service dog to heeling position eventually.

I feel it’s super important that your dog learns how to react to pressure on the collar in the first place, because then if they ever get distracted and move to the end of the leash, the pressure can remind them not to pull in the future.

Anyway, without further ado, I present Luna and I in our first training video!
